18th Century Christmas Program and Performance

December 9 at 2:00 pm

18th Century Christmas Program and Performance at the North County Branch Library
65 Halstead St., Clinton, NJ 08809

Anne and Ridley Enslow will perform Christmas music with a Dutch flavor dressed in colonial American costumes. They accompany their singing with instruments authentic to the 18th century, including the hammered dulcimer and violin—in this case, a violin made in France in 1776. Before each tune Anne and Ridley give a brief an entertaining history of the song and how it fits into a Colonial Christmas.

The event is at the North County Branch Library in Clinton, NJ on Saturday December 9 at 2:00 PM. The program feature carefully authenticated colonial Christmas songs and instrumental music of the era. This event will include several special Dutch Christmas songs appropriate for an historic site with Dutch connections.

The conclusion of the show will include well-known sing along carols (in English).

This free event includes apple cider and Dutch cookies.
