Against a Sea of Troubles: Slave Trade Suppression in the American Republic

Why did citizens of the new American republic turn from supporting the end of the international slave trade early in our nation’s history to withdrawing their support in the years before the Civil War?

Dr. Craig Hollander, history professor at the College of New Jersey, will discuss this question in his lecture.

Admission: $10; $8 for Trent House Association Members

Light refreshments will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch.
