Bordentown Historical Society Opens New Exhibit- Point Breeze

Event Grand Opening Date:  Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 12 – 4PM and Sunday, April 15th from 3-4PM.

The Bordentown Historical Society will host a grand opening for their newest exhibit focusing on the home of the man whose council was sought by the Marquis de Lafayette and numerous American politicians. Artifacts from Joseph Bonaparte’s personal collection at Point Breeze, a country home first owned by American diploma Stephen Sayre, before becoming the gorgeous estate of Joseph Bonaparte, will be on display. Many of the pieces on display include letters, furniture, 1808 Spain Proclamation and an early print of the Point Breeze estate owned by Fox Rothschild’s Partner, Peter J. Tucci. Also on display will be a recreated early taxidermy station, two early volumes of American Ornithology and an 1849 letter written by Charles Lucien Bonaparte.
