Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pmFree
The British called him the “High Priest of the Revolution,” and he returns to life at the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth on Sunday May 6 at 2:00 p.m. as reenactor Meridoc Burkhardt portrays “James Caldwell: The Fighting Parson.” The next installment of the Brackbill Lecture Series, this presentation dramatically portrays the Patriot and Presbyterian minister to share the legacy of his work during the Revolutionary War. Caldwell was the presiding minister at churches in Elizabeth, Union and Springfield.
The Brackbill Lecture Series honors and memorializes the life and legacy of The Reverend Charles Brackbill Jr., who served with distinction as a pastor, educator, media executive and humanitarian for more than six decades. His vision and leadership transformed the campus of the First Presbyterian Church into a dynamic center for history, education, the arts and social and economic development in midtown Elizabeth.
