Open Hearth Cooking Workshop at Peachfield

Join us at Peachfield to hone your hearth cooking skills with Open Hearth Cook Margaret Quinn. If you are interested in cooking the way our ancestors did, this program is for you. Margaret will instruct participants in preparing a multi-dish meal. Learn the fundamentals of open hearth cooking and how to interpret an 18th century receipt. Dishes will include seasonal foods from the colonial period. The cooks will then partake of the food they prepared. No experience is needed – just a desire to learn and to have fun. Copies of the period receipts used in class will be provided to participants.
A full menu and list of what you should bring that day will be provided upon registration. Fee: $45. Pre-registration is required. Space is limited. Minimum number of participants – 6; maximum – 12.
