Ramapough Lenape Nation Annual Pow Wow

This is the Ramapough Lenape Indian Nation’s Annual Pow Wow at Sally’s Field, Ringwood, NJ. There will be Native American crafts, traditional food, ceremony, music and dancing. Other tribes come from near and far to participate. Here you can walk on the land where Native Americans have dwelled for thousands of years, amongst the spectacular scenery of the Ramapo Mountains. From the site, you can see Ringwood Manor, its gardens and ponds. Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, September 16, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Suggested donation is $8.00 per adult, $3.00 for children 5-12 years old, free for children under 5, and $5.00 for elders 60+. The Ramapough Lenape Nation’s ancestors were instrumental to George Washington during the Revolutionary War. They participated in many ways including creating cannon balls for the army and making the iron links for the “Great Chain” used to stop the British from sailing up the Hudson River during the war.
