SAR West Fields Chapter Annual Dinner Featuring Award-Winning Historian Robert A. Selig

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 7:00 pm

The Sons of the American Revolution, West Fields Chapter, will hold its annual dinner 7 p.m., March 21, at Echo Lake Country Club, 515 Springfield Ave., Westfield.
At this year’s annual dinner of the Sons of the American Revolution, West Fields Chapter, new members will be recognized and awards presented.
The dinner will feature the award-winning and internationally respected historian Robert A. Selig, who has distinguished himself with his extensive historical consulting work on the Washington-Rochambeau National Historic Trail (https://www.nps.gov/waro/index.htm), part of which passes through Westfield.
Selig has worked for some 17 years with the National Park Service and each of the nine states (plus Washington, D.C.) through which the “Revolutionary Route” passes, striving to honor and help preserve this national treasure.
The trail’s importance to the victory of the American and French forces at Yorktown in 1781 is widely recognized, and in recent years led to the creation of the National Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route Association Inc. (W3R-US.org) dedicated to the preservation of the route and its history.
Partial funding for Selig’s appearance has been provided by The Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route-NJ Association and by the national organization. In recognition of his efforts, Selig in 2012 received the Distinguished Patriot Award from National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, and, from the French Government, Les Palmes Academiques.
This event is open to the public. Please note that the dress code for Echo Lake is jacket and tie for men and cocktail attire for women. A cash bar will open at 6 with dinner following at 7.
Cost is $50 per person (check payable to West Fields SAR). RSVP by March 18 to: Bruce Ryno, 77 Willow Avenue North Plainfield, NJ 07060.
