Huzzah and raise a toast at Crossroads site Tavern events this month!

In the tradition of tavern keeping families like Charity Britton’s and Mary Creighton Stratton’s, Crossroads Heritage Partners in north, central and southern New Jersey are hosting history and brews at events in September. Sample New Jersey craft beers in the convivial atmosphere of some of our storied historical sites!

On September 14, the Old Barracks Museum in Trenton hosts its annual Tavern Night. Whether you dress in your 18th century dress or come as you are in 21st century gear, you’ll enjoy Colonial card games, dancing to the hits of the era and more. Visit the Old Barracks website to reserve your spot today.

Haddonfield’s Indian King Tavern welcomes beer enthusiasts on September 16 for Tankard at the Tavern. Reserve your spot for one of two seatings and sample libations from two local breweries, as well as a tasty pig roast and roasted chicken. Check the Indian King Tavern website for more information and to book your spot!

Who doesn’t love a birthday celebration, even if it’s a few days late? Celebrate the birth of Baron von Steuben at Baronfest on September 29 at Historic New Bridge Landing in River Edge. Games for the kids, pumpkin picking, demonstrations from Mott’s Artillery, music and more will be on hand, including beers from two area breweries. (We hear the Baron will be there, too!) Visit the Bergen County Historical Society website for more information.
