Connecticut Farms Presbyterian Church was rebuilt in 1782 by members of the congregation after original 1730 structure was burned by British and Hessian troops in their retreat from the Battle of Connecticut Farms on June 7, 1780. George Washington visited the site the next day to view the destruction.
