REVOLUTIONARY AND CIVIL WAR ENCAMPMENT AT
HISTORIC COLD SPRING VILLAGE, SEPTEMBER 11th-12th
Authentically clad and equipped reenactors bring the American Revolution and Civil War to life on the grounds of Historic Cold Spring Village, Saturday and Sunday, September 11th and 12th from 11am to 4:00pm. The event will feature encampments, weaponry, and demonstrations from living history groups, including Continentals and Hessians.
Visitors can experience artillery and small arms demonstrations both days. Historian Mike Kochan will be in character as Benjamin Franklin demonstrating some of Franklin’s famous inventions and experiments. Lynda Towns will be presenting Sojourner Truth and Shades of Our Past returns with their presentation on Mary Todd Lincoln at the Village Gazebo on both days. Children can search the Village for clues in the Patriot Spy game on both Saturday and Sunday.

Historic Cold Spring Village is a 19thc. open air nonprofit living history museum that portrays the crafts, trades, lifestyle, and issues from the “Age of Homespun.” Historically clothed interpreters discuss and demonstrate the daily life of a rural South Jersey community of the Early American period. It features 27 restored historic structures on a 30-acre site, including an 8-acre c.1800s farm complex with animals. The museum is located between Route 9 and Seashore Road (Rte. 626) three miles north of Victorian Cape May and a mile and a half west of the southern terminus of the Garden State Parkway. During the season, the entrance fee is $12 for adults and $10 for children ages 3 to 12. Children under 3 are admitted free. Unlimited free admission is available with museum membership.
