Morristown, NJ –  Maestro Robert W. Butts of the Baroque Orchestra of New Jersey (BONJ), and pianist Peter Toth have merged their creative talents to present a special Concert for the Holidays at 1 pm on Saturday December 7, 2019 in Morristown National Historical Park’s (NHP) Washington’s Headquarters Museum, 30 Washington Place, Morristown, New Jersey.

Admission to the concert is free. The program will feature mostly Baroque-era selections performed by the BONJ. Soprano Timothy Maureen Cole and bass Robert Feng will join the orchestra for arias from Scarlatti’s la Giuditta and Handel’s Messiah. Additional selections offered will include works by Giovanni Gabrieli, Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Fasch, and Arcangelo Corelli, as well as a few surprise pieces.

Fresh from recitals in Hungary, Serbia, Austria, and California, Peter Toth will play some of his favorite music and accompany the orchestra for the finale. As always, Dr. Toth will perform on the park’s historic 19th-century Steinway Grand Piano.

Dr. Jude Pfister, Morristown NHP’s Chief of Cultural Resources, will host the concert which celebrates a decade of collaboration between Morristown NHP and the BONJ, and nearly five years of collaboration with Dr. Toth.

The event is co-sponsored by the Washington Association of New Jersey and the Morristown NHP, and coincides with the Morris County Tourism Bureau’s popular Holly Walk event. For information on Holly Walk, see https://www.eventbrite.com/e/holly-walk-2019-dec-67-8-tickets-75174475881 .
