Experience the Battle of Princeton
Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
The Princeton Battlefield Society will present “Experience the Battle of Princeton,” its annual educational event commemorating one of the pivotal battles of the Revolutionary War.
The event will start at the Princeton Historical Society’s Updike Farm next to the battlefield, with a presentation by local historian William L. Kidder, author of Ten Crucial Days: Washington’s Vision for Victory Unfolds. Mr. Kidder will then lead interpretation of the recreation of the battle by re-enactors representing the Continental and British units involved, describing exactly where, when, and why events unfolded that chilly morning in 1777. The event will start at 9:00 a.m., with the reenactment to follow at the site of the original battle.
With limited parking at Updike Farm, shuttle service will be available from Princeton Battlefield State Park to the farm. Free hot drinks will be available at the Updike Farm and the battlefield. Following Mr. Kidder’s presentation, attendees have the option of taking the shuttle back to Princeton Battlefield State Park or march with Continental soldiers to the Clarke farm along the lane used by Washington’s Army in 1777.
