Friends of the Jacobus Vanderveer House present Weekend Journey Through the Past & Fall Harvest Hoedown
The Friends will host their first annual Fall Harvest Hoedown for two days of activities in participation of Somerset County’s Weekend Journey Through the Past on Saturday, October 9th from 10:00 am – 5:00pm & Sunday, October 10th from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Free Admission on both days. Programming will take place on the grounds of the Jacobus Vanderveer House located at 3055 River Road Park, Bedminster, NJ 07921.
Weather permitting: The Friends plan to have all activities outside of the Jacobus Vanderveer House
except house tours.
Schedule of JVH Fall Harvest Hoedown Programming
Saturday, October 9th 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Featuring a live performance by The Long Hill String Band
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the band’s performance outside!
● The Long Hill String Band will perform two outdoor sets from 11:30am-12:30pm & 1:00pm-2:00pm
● Live historic demonstrations by weaver Joannah Wilmerding
● Live historic demonstrations by spinner Donna MacKenzie
● Docent led house tours
● Activities also include activities for the whole family including , crafts, a scavenger hunt, a raffle and a microbrew pull
Sunday, October 10th 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Featuring “Middlebrook, The Revolutionary War Campground That Saved America” book signing and presentation by author Robert Mayers. Presentation and book signing will take place outdoors.
