Built in 1760 and the site of Aaron Burr’s wedding to Theodosia Bartow Prevost, the national historic landmark The Hermitage offers guided tours on Saturdays and Sundays at 1:15, 2:15 and 3:15. In addition to being a stop for General George Washington and his aides-de-camps in 1778, the house was occupied from 1801-1970 by the Rosencrantz family, who in 1847 transformed it into the Gothic Revival architecture it remains today. Additional tours outside the normal weekend tours can be arranged by calling the museum office at (201) 445-8311. Tickets are $10 per adult and $5 per child.
