East Jersey Old Town Village comes alive Wednesday through Sunday with historical interpreters presenting the trades and crafts of the 18th and 19th centuries. Stop by, visit reconstructed and replica early American Raritan Valley structures and chat with reenactors as they demonstrate what life was like in the region’s farm and merchant communities.
Buildings include the Indian Queen Tavern, the Farley Blacksmith Shop, the Williamson Wheelwright Shop, the Smalleytown Schoolhouse, the Three Mile Run Church, the homes of early settlers and outbuildings.
Plus, don’t miss the exhibit of artifacts from Raritan Landing, the bustling Raritan River port community that once stood nearby.
Historical interpreters will be on site Wednesdays through Sundays until October 31.
Wednesday – Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Thursdays in August: open until 8:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.
