Description Catch the “talk of the taverns” on this guided walk in historic Somerville. Pause at several sights to learn about Somerville’s eighteenth-century Tunison’s Tavern and George Washington’s passage through this area 245 years ago in January 1777 following the Battles of Trenton and Princeton. Return to our “Sign of the Red Lion Tavern” as the sun sets and “illumination” by candlelight begins.
