Philadelphia fans and foes alike will enjoy this Philly Special tour of Philadelphia history in Revolutionary New Jersey before the Big Game. Wallace House State Historic Site was the New Jersey home of a Philadelphia family and hosted George Washington’s winter headquarters during the Revolutionary War.

Learn about the Wallace family in life and death in Philadelphia, George and Martha Washington’s visit to Philadelphia while the Continental Army camped in New Jersey in 1778-79, the family fight between Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin and his son New Jersey’s Royal Governor William Franklin, the historical debate over Philadelphia’s Betsy Ross or New Jersey’s Francis Hopkinson as first fabricator of the Stars and Stripes, and the unlikely origin of American football in the revolutionary rivalry between New Jersey’s colonial colleges.
