Reclaiming Our Voice: New Jersey’s Central Role in Fight – Women’s Suffrage

Sunday, March 1, 2020 at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Ms. Levin will portray Lillian Feickert. president of the NJ Women’s Suffrage Association, 1912-1920. She explores the overlooked role of NJ in the long, frustrating fight for women’s suffrage. Many do not realize that some NJ women once had the right to vote, then lost it for over a century!

As Lillian Feickert, Ms. Levin shares stories of how nationally-known suffrage advocates in NJ staged protests and reinvigorated the fight for passage of the 19th Amendment.

This program is provided by the New Jersey Council on Humanities through the Public Scholars Project and is FREE to all attendees.

Space is limited, and reservations are required.
