What’s brewing in America? A revolution, of course- and beer! Join RevolutionNJ in the age old tradition of exploring revolutionary ideas in bars with friends. This interactive event will take you back in time to meet four key players in the Revolutionary War, featuring history that happened right on your doorstep.

Hackensack Brewing Company hosts RevolutionNJ and friends to explore the effects and ideals of the 1780 British Raid on Hackensack and Paramus. In the early morning hours of March 23rd, 1780, 300 British & German troops crossed the Hackensack River at Little Ferry and surprised a militia picket. Happening only one mile away from the action (several hundred years later) that same battle was depicted in 2018 on the side of the Hackensack Brewing Company signature beer, “Musket Haze”.

Using accounts of the action, reenactors will immerse participants in games and discussion. You might find that the past is closer than you think! So, what happens when a loyalist, a British officer, a militiaman, and a homefront hero walk into a brewery?
