On Sunday, September 10^th, the 2nd NJ will be on site for a day of interactive activities for all ages from 11 am to 4 pm. Ever wonder what daily life was like for soldiers during the Revolutionary War? How did General Washington train his men? What did roles did the men and women (camp) followers have in the Continental Army?

While the 2nd NJ is outside on the east side of the Manor, our docents will discuss the Shippen family during the Revolutionary War–and visitors will learn which part of the family supported independence from Britain and about family members who held prominent roles during the war.

Tours of the main floor of the Manor will be from 11 a.m. and the last tour will begin at 3:30 p.m. During the course of the day, tours will be paused for firing demonstration(s) with the 2nd NJ (time(s) TBA the day of the event). The back parking will be closed to the public to ensure safety for our reenactors, staff, and visitors.

We are a family-friendly site. Admission is free.

Our Friends of Shippen is a volunteer group that accepts donations from our visitors at the end of the tours. All donated monies are used to purchase things for the museum.
