The South Jersey Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution is celebrating our 100th Anniversary the Chapter which was founded/chartered on April 13, 1923 by Rear Admiral Reynolds T. Hall., who was president from1923-1927. The event will recognize the history of the chapter, its accomplishments, and special members. The guest speaker is Dr, Jennifer Janofsky, Rowan University Professor and Curator and Director of the Red Bank Battlefield. Dr. Janofsky will speak on the Archaeology of the Battle of Red Bank and the discovery of the Hessian graves. Recently the remains of Hessian soldiers have been found on the Battlefield. Additional archaeological studies are ongoing. The Red Bank Battlefield is a National SAR Color Guard Event and the soldiers who fought and died, both American and British/Hessians are recognized at the annual 18th Century event on the anniversary of the Battle on October 22, 1777.
