Tewksbury Afghans and Prints among Holiday Items for Sale by Tewksbury Historical Society

The Society has numerous gift items for sale including Tewksbury afghans in Williamsburg Blue, Cranberry, and Hunter Green colors, only a few packs left of Tewksbury Art Show notecards depicting winning works from previous shows, Tewksbury Churches notecards and post cards replicated from original historic scenes and buildings in the Township. There are books for sale including hardcover and paperback editions of Historic Notes on Fairmount, NJ by Freeman Leigh as well as prints on Tewksbury, Califon, Mountainville and Pottersville. In addition, there are signed copies of the Mountainville prints by longtime resident Charles Burrell. And the Tewksbury Auto Tour booklet – the self-guided tour by auto of Tewksbury.

High Bridge at the Solitude Heritage Museum by William Honachefsky Jr.

The history of High Bridge is intertwined with the development of the iron and steel industry in the United States. As early as the 1700s, the framework of this little hamlet had already been created by English investors who carved up the rich wilderness of the New World, brimming with iron ore that would be essential to the county’s development. High Bridge Borough evolved around the Taylor Wharton Foundry, established in 1742.
