Step back in time and enjoy an authentic colonial Christmas this weekend at Crossroads’ featured tour of the week, the Abraham Staats House. Start the weekend early with a candlelight tour of the home on Dec. 4th or visit the house during its annual “Holiday at the Abraham Staats House” on Dec. 5th & 6th. Take a stroll through the many rooms, learn about the history of the home, and get in the holiday spirit as you enjoy the seasonal decorations and holiday music of the 18th century played on the mountain and hammered dulcimer, bowed psaltery, mandolin, and fiddle throughout throughout the event by Tom Harabin. Built c. 1740, the house was home to the Dutch Staats family for nearly two centuries and is now under the care of the Borough of South Bound Brook. In recognition of its historic value, the house is listed on the NJ State and National registers of Historic Places.
