Don’t miss Toms River’s birthday celebration on June 24! Music will be provided by the Old Barracks Fife & Drum Corps from Trenton, and visitors will have the chance to sign a copy of the township’s charter. At noon, a food truck festival will take over Washington Street in the downtown area.
The park was named for Capt. Joshua Huddy, the commander of the Toms River blockhouse, or fort, located at the top of the hill on what is now Robbins Street.
