The Somerville Elks’ 2017 Flag Day Festival is being launched with an exciting new student (grades 7-12) and adult Flag Art, Photography & Digital Image Contest that runs from March 1 to May 1, 2017. The Somerville Elks invite residents of Central NJ to create and enter inspiring and patriotic flag art. Finalists will showcase their work at the AT&T store in the Bridgewater Commons Mall, and winners will be recognized with a display of their artwork on the digital scoreboard at a Somerset Patriots ballgame. The Somerville Elks are looking to reach the student and adult art community through Facebook by asking everyone’s help in spreading the word by Liking and Sharing the Flag Day Festival Facebook page through your individual and organization’s Facebook pages.

Through this same flyer, the Somerville Elks are also seeking nominations of high school students whose service or actions have honored our flag in a special way that deserves to be recognized on the field of a Somerset Patriots ballgame. Teachers, parents, scout leaders and all residents are encouraged to submit nominations by May 1, 2017.
