Public Meeting on Plan to Build 135 Ft. Cell Tower on Historic Land- Dec. 13

A public meeting will be held on Dec. 13th at 7:30 at the Montgomery Township Municipal Building in the courtroom located at  2261 Van Horne Road – Route 206 North
Belle Mead, NJ 08502. The meeting will center around a proposal by Verizon to build a 135 ft. cell tower on land that has significant historical value. Not only did George Washington and his troops march up the proposed site on their way from the Battle of Princeton to Morristown, stopping to spend the night in Millstone, part of the National Heritage Area overseen by the Crossroads of the American Revolution Association, but the area is also part of the Millstone Valley National Scenic Byway, part of W3R making it a National Historic Trail, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is adjacent to the D&R Canal Park and the D&R Canal Historic District and the Griggstown Historic District.
