Midsummer 2024 brings the 250th anniversary of the Quebec Act, propelling British North America closer into the American Revolution, and the 360th anniversary of New Jersey’s indenture, establishing New Jersey as an English colony.
This afternoon lecture for Midsummer’s Eve explores both anniversaries with close readings of the New Jersey Indenture of 1664 and the Quebec Act of 1774, including the coincidence of their occurrence at St. John the Baptist Day, the National Day of Quebec.
Admission is free. No registration is required.
