The Old Barracks was built in 1758 to house soldiers of the British Army during the French and Indian War. It is the only remaining colonial barracks in New Jersey. It was the largest structure in Trenton in 1776 and stands today as one of the few tangible surviving elements of the Battle of Trenton. It is a National Historic Landmark and a state-run historic site and museum, offering tours and events on a regular basis.
