The warm and comforting setting of the Indian Queen Tavern allowed travelers to recover from their long journeys; providing food, spirits, and a much needed place to lay one’s head. The tavern along with a relocated schoolhouse, church, blacksmith’s shop, several homes and a barn in East Jersey Olde Towne offers the public an opportunity to learn about the history and traditions of 18th and 19th century New Jersey communities. It is staffed by the Middlesex County Cultural and Heritage Commission.
