Having passed through American and British hands on more than one occasion during the Revolutionary War, the Old Barracks eventually became an American military hospital until war’s end. Maintaining the Barracks in its traditional state helps set the stage for visitors who wish to step back into the era of the American Revolution and learn more about the early history of the United States.
