This week’s featured heritage partner is the Princeton Battlefield Society. Join them for “Revolution at Princeton” on Saturday, September 24th from 10:00am-5:00pm at Princeton Battlefield State Park. Enjoy artillery demonstrations; a Burr-Hamilton duel reenactment, military & colonial life demonstrations, and activities for kids throughout the day! Find out why in 1777, nearly 240 years ago, the Battle of Princeton was a crucial turning point in the American Revolution. The day begins with demonstrations of the 43rd’ Royal Artillery; book signing and short lectures by Patrick O’Donnell, author of the gripping Washington’s Immortals.
Throughout the day, activities include:
- Experience military and Colonial life with reenactors performing music, cooking, weaving, spinning, blacksmithing
- Children’s activities include Patriot marching, music and artwork with First Crossing and the Princeton Arts Council
- Exhibit from the National Marine Corps Museum
- Display of American Revolution swords and a special musket
- Interactive map presentation on the Battle of Princeton;
- A visit by General Washington, who will read a story to kids
- Tours of the Clarke House and Museum
