Liberty Hall’s Home School Day- Scouts, Spies and Soldiers- May 1

A very special collaboration between Kean Stages and Liberty Hall Museum expressly for our Home School friends.  Attend a performance of Arc Attack at Kean Stages on the campus of Kean University in the morning, then cross the street to Liberty Hall Museum for an afternoon of fun and adventure with our Scouts, Spies and Soldiers program.  Bring a bagged lunch and enjoy the grounds of Liberty Hall Museum prior to the afternoon program. Arc Attack is a play in which the crew of ArcAttack uses their high tech wizardry to generate a truly ‘electrifying’ performance. Combining their love of rock music and their love of science, this is a show you will never forget!  Afterwards, Liberty Hall’s Scouts, Spies and Soldiers program will have students learn how Revolutionary Era spies used codes, dead drops and ciphers to convey military intelligence. Students will follow clues to find a secret message from General George Washington, Spymaster in Chief, hidden on the trails of Liberty Hall.  They will learn how to use the pig-pen code and will discover the important role scouts played during the American Revolution.  Students will participate in a musket drill and learn how Revolutionary soldiers trained for battle.  All students will create and take home their own cypher wheel to encode secret messages!
