The Monmouth Vicinage is planning a living history event honoring the anniversary of the Battle of Monmouth on July 28. Monmouth Battlefield State Park historian Michael Timpanaro will speak at 12:30 p.m., and the vicinage welcomes historical groups to participate at the event, which will take place at the Monmouth County Courthouse, 71 Monument Park in Freehold.
Reenactor groups and historical societies, particularly those in period dress, are invited to display and participate on the courthouse front lawn. Suttlers, encampments, field hospitals and artifact displays that can help tell the story of the battle are welcome.
