NJ Historical Commission Seeks Sites to Add to “Field Trip New Jersey” Initiative

“In an effort to increase participation of students in underserved communities at New Jersey history museums and sites, the New Jersey Historical Commission (NJHC) is collecting information about educational programs, tours, and exhibits. We want to include your institution!

NJHC supports an initiative in partnership with the Community Foundation of New Jersey and the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation called Field Trip New Jersey. Field Trip New Jersey creates opportunities for students in underserved communities by underwriting transportation costs for field trips that connect classroom learning with real-life experiences. Data shows a lack of New Jersey history museums and sites represented on trips supported by Field Trip New Jersey.

Increase student participation at your institution and help engage underserved communities by including information about the programs, tours, and exhibits appropriate for K-12 school field trip groups you offer. The list we compile will be shared statewide with schools and teachers. Please complete the following survey by Friday, August 11, 2017: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/D8XYVKQ

Your assistance in the compilation of this list and the important work of your organization is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact NJHC Communications Officer, Greer Luce at 609-633-0776 or [email protected] with questions or concerns.
