The Friends of the Jacobus Vanderveer House will host their Summer Soiree fundraiser on June 1, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. This casual fundraising event is open to all members of the public and includes a silent auction, delicious barbeque catered by Jersey Joes BBQ, lawn games, open-bar cocktails, and live music by Bedminster’s These Two Guys. Kick off your summer with The Friends and partake in these festive activies!
Also taking place during this time will be our 4th Annual Field of Honor®. Our Annual Field of Honor® tribute will celebrate our nation’s independence and honor those who have served our country and loved ones with a display of over 200 American flags in the north field of River Road Park along Route 202/206 in Bedminster, beginning Saturday May 18 through Saturday July 8. Flags will be available for adoption for $30 and each dedication will be posted on our website. Tickets to the Summer Soiree are $125 per person and may be purchased by visiting www.jvanderveerhouse.org.
All proceeds of the Summer Soiree will benefit the general operations of the Jacobus Vanderveer House.
About The Jacobus Vanderveer House
The Jacobus Vanderveer House served as headquarters for General Henry Knox during the winter of 1778-79 and is the only surviving building associated with the Pluckemin Artillery Cantonment, now recognized as America’s first military training academy and the precursor to The United States Military Academy at West Point. The Jacobus Vanderveer House interprets Dutch colonial life in America as well as the stay by General Knox and his family during the 1778-79 encampment. A National and New Jersey Historic Site, the Jacobus Vanderveer House is a true landmark that offers a vivid look into the history of our country and the lives of those who made it.
