Skirmish Reenactment Draws Crowds to Haddonfield

On June 4, 2022, the British invaded Haddonfield and were challenged by Continental troops, just as they were before the June 1778 Battle of Monmouth. This commemorative event included Redcoats on horseback, musketfire and harassment from the Continentals on and around Kings Highway and Crossroads’ video team was there. Watch highlights of the day here, including remarks from Rep. Donald Norcross and Haddonfield Mayor Colleen Bianco Bezich.

The daylong reenactment event was open to the public and also included a yelling contest, colonial dancing, pillory prisoners and reenactors. The arrest of Quaker (and Crossroads Revolutionary Neighbor) Thomas Redman was also reenacted before a large crowd.  Tours of the historic Indian King Tavern were offered all day.
