The Pirates of Chestnut Neck: Lunch and Learn at Tuckerton Seaport

Relive the battle between the South Jersey pirates against the British forces trying to eliminate the nuisance of Continental forces given ‘Letters of Marque by the young Continental Congress to seize British ships for our Revolutionary War effort. Stockton University Adjunct Professor Steve Nagiewicz shares information on a project he and his marine archeology class will undertake, using sophisticated sonar to map the wrecks in the Mullica River, one of which is listed as one of the four on the National Register of Historic Shipwrecks.

Tuckerton Seaport Lunch and Learn sessions are held on the second Wednesday of the month from September to May at 12:30 at the Seaport. Please call 609-296-8868 for more information and to register. Cost is $2.00 per person (payable at the door), and includes coffee and cookies. Participants are welcome to bring a lunch, or register at least 24 hours in advance for a soup and sandwich option for $6 per person.
