The UFHA is hard at work this 2017. They have two new projects underway- Trail Project and Meadow Project!
UFHA received a $24,000 grant through the Federal Trails program for their Union Forge Heritage Association Trail project. The project includes new signage to identify the trail and its historical significance. This trail will connect the historical western properties of the Union Ironworks and will potentially join with the Steelworkers Historical Greenway completed in 2009 as a lasting legacy.
The Meadow Project is also taking shape. UFHA’s goal is for visitors to stroll down pathways through the meadow to the Spring House and then connect to the Hunterdon Heritage Ironworks Trail system. Signage is in the works thanks to the Trail Project. Planting is expected to take place in the fall.
