In honor of President George Washington’s Birthday, the Oakland Historical Society is having a special celebration at the Van Allen House. Local Girl Scouts will be helping us entertain and inform all visitors. As candling-dipping is being demonstrated, the girls will help their guests create their own candles out of wax. This will be followed by a tea party by a warm open-hearth. For more information click here.
